Copse in the Clouds

The infamous copse of 140 Beech trees known as Cookworthy Knapp on the A30 Devon/Cornwall border, they are shrouded by a low cloud as the early morning sun rises on what turned out to be a beautiful summers day in late July. These trees are known by many names such as - Cornwall Beyond, Nearly home, Grandma’s trees, The Unicorns wood, Trafalgar Clump and Fairy wood, with just as many rumours as to why they are there and a suggested planting date of 1900.
To me they signified I was officially on holiday because I’d see them just after sunrise when we would drive down to Cornwall for our summer holidays when my children were younger, happy days!
