Frensham
Photographs taken in and around Frensham in Surrey, England. Locations include the Commons incorporating the 'Great' and 'Little' ponds* that are a prominent feature of this landscape and are used daily by people for leisure, work and generally are a large part of life in the area.
I've been visiting this location since I was a boy when my parents would take me and my brothers to the Great pond for days out. I've taken my own children here and regularly walk my dog on the common which is a sandy heathland rich in plant and wildlife diversity with a large variety of tree species and an expansive coverage of Heather. Along with being a stunning natural environment for visitors to enjoy this and other nearby locations have also been used many times as the backdrop for Hollywood Blockbusters.
In photographic terms it's a place that I will visit, and photograph, for many years to come. I will be continually adding to this collection so please come back and visit.
* Despite their size (circumference) they are classified as Ponds and not Lakes because of the depth.
Please also check my galleries Charred Mist and Charred Recovery that specifically feature photos of trees from an area of the Common devastated by a fire in 2010.
