Red and Yellow

In August 2019 I took a series of photos, at dawn, of the empty rows of sunbeds, chairs and beach umbrellas on the beaches of Crete. Their regimental lines are maintained each morning by staff working for the hotel or bar that lay claim to each section of sandy real estate, to ensure they’re ready for the guests who arrive to embark on a day of sunbathing. There is a daily charge for use of the furniture, however this is often waived if you purchase a drink from the establishment brought to you by waiters.
